When Stiles moved away, Derek let him go, though he wanted to protest, wanted to draw his slave closer to him, erase the literal and metaphorical distance.
"I don't know what changed her mind," Derek replied, honestly. He wouldn't think that the prospect of being owned by him would be enough. He didn't think that highly of himself. And based on Stiles and Isaac, he didn't outwardly appear to be a successful Master. "But I do know that she deserves to feel safe, and protected, and wanted. And as her friend, you should want those things for her too."
