"Freedom is... I don't think it would be bad," Alice admitted, mulling the concept over in her mind. It was one of those things that could be beautiful or exceptionally ugly depending on the circumstances that colored it. She'd never known much of it even when she'd had it, content to play alone and wander until she wandered too far from camp and was picked up. "I'm like a leaf. I'll go along with the wind, but I'm happy to be here right now." She brushed a lock of her behind her ear, laughing a little.
"I don't know if I've ever been useless, but I haven't been awfully useful either," she went on, looking back at Allison. "I have trouble focusing."
