Carrick glanced up from the stack of books. "I used to be a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. Karena and I lived in London at the end of the 19th Century, she was always complaining that I would buy two copies of the Strand magazine - one so that I could devour the Holmes story immediately and one to file it away in pristine condition for later decades. Only then I would forget which was which." He smiled a little at the memory.
