John smiled at the trust part. For the most part, he agreed, though he'd had exceptions of course. Still, when it came down to it, even his parents he couldn't entirely trust.
Shaking his head he looked to her, "Well the act I witnessed was rather horrific, but essentially the rebels had a young witch, whose power wasn't that great yet, tied up and... well you can guess. I stopped them, and that's why I was exiled."
Frowning he thought, "So when I was exiled I went with her, and she and I were able to help one another, until of course I was killed. She was able to escape though, and eventually revived me. I lived with her ever since, this was back in the middle of the last century..."
Thinking, he furrowed his brows, "Her name was Cortana, and she and I lived together for a very long time; I still fought, but mostly rebel camps and anything I knew might be a threat. We eventually tried to go into hiding though, but the rebels found us. She was killed, I was caught..."
