Morgan tried to hide it, but he perked up at the mention of money. The club did well, very well, in fact, and there was no risk of running out of funds, but club money got taken up running the club. Money to buy and smuggle slaves was a whole other story, and often relied on a few benefactors with large hearts and open wallets.
"I won't pretend that wouldn't be of an enormous help," he said, biting nervously at the nail of his thumb.
"It gets expensive. Doing what I do. May I ask, you have a slave, don't you? IS she aware of your thoughts on this?"
