Morgan had already been quite sure what they were talking about, but Ambrose dropped a significant tell with one word. Humans. He often heard them called many things, from the crass of 'pigs', to the factual of 'slaves', and even the flowery term that people often used when justifying slavery itself, 'children of eden'. Calling them humans was rare, at least around these parts it was.
"I try to create a safe place," he said, speaking a little more openly. "For anyone who needs it. As you've heard, it's just my nature."
