"Eter..." Laura sighed heavily, rolling her eyes, and turning away. This would cause problems in itself - housing someone else's slave without passing on the information. But that in itself could be addressed. "Look... It's okay. She does have a reputation of... harshness. It's why I sent Stiles to her in the first place - she gets results. So we'll tell her that we didn't know until the snow cleared - if she chooses to escape before Eterna arrives, then we won't be held responsible for it."
But the next part made Laura freeze, her blood running cold. She swallowed hard, looking back at the garage, and pushing past Derek to open the door. The girl was sleeping, and with how innocent and relaxed she seemed, it was hard for her to see the similarity. But if she looked close enough, she could see it.
"Tell me you didn't know." She said, her voice low, glancing up at him. "Tell me that when you let her stay, you didn't know."
