Ambrose's timing was impeccable, and Buffy's reflexes were on point enough to stop mid-punch just inches from Lucius' face. It was for the best, really, even if his admission that he'd bled Evie once she'd been distracted was enough to make her want to follow through with her previous plan to punch him right in his smug face. She lowered her hand, not trusting herself if Lucius was planning on continuing to speak.
"I can't believe you!" she hissed, forcing herself to step back away from him and closer to Ambrose in case her master would have to physically restrain her. He'd fed from her just the previous night, and so she hoped the blood wouldn't cause any problems for him. "Are you sure I can't punch him? Just once?" She looked up, now at Ambrose's side, hopefully.
