"Who else would have been a good master? At least your name would have been recognized. Not like I would want to be a slave, but it was nice talking to them on their level, instead of as one of their betters. I was just one of them. With the masters I am a kid, with them I was just...me." he shrugged.
He took the glass and took a large drink, but held it in his mouth for a moment before swallowing. "Sure that is what my parents said, and we both know they are giving you money to 'take care' of me." he took another, smaller drink and sat the glass on the table, there was still scotch in it and he really wished he could just down it without having to wait. "Maybe that is what I want." He said. "Maybe I want to stop existing. I mean..." he sighed. "I never mean much to me parents. My father wanted me to learn all the magic I could, but would he even take five minutes to look at his eleven year old causing a book to hover? No, being famous was so much more important." He took another drink from the glass and caused it to hover out of his hand. "The only people that ever loved me where my tutors."
