Ambrose froze for a brief moment. Lucius had no proof that he had freed slaves. So he refused to even dignify that with a response, but he would need to speak to Morgan sometime soon. "Yet you think by enslaving humans that we can curb any desires they have? Why not enslave everyone and be done with it."
God Evie was going to get herself killed if she didn't hush, not that he didn't like free spirited humans, but even Buffy saying something like that would make him tense up. "You don't need to stick up on my behalf, Miss Evie. I don't live under the assumption I will ever stop hearing screams at night, but I do know that I actually feel remorse. I also have Buffy, so it matter's little what others think of me, my own kind think I am too week and should have been killed off before becoming a vampire."
He was still holding on to Buffy's hand as he looked out the window. "I suspect a witch of this, storms do not come about that fast. Even in Colorado, there might be a hail storm in summer but then it ends pretty quickly. I would have suggested it was Lucius that did this, but then he would not let himself get caught in the storm before he can get back to his lair."
