Lucius took a seat, unphased by the verbal assaults coming at him on all sides. He hadn't expected anything else from them, as far as they were concerned, he was the enemy. Nothing could be further from the truth. They were just too short-sighted to realise that he was the future. He listened to their words in an amused contemplative silence, taking everything they said before addressing each of them in turn.
"Buffy, I would be more than happy to spar with you if your Master would allow it. Perhaps I'll take the offensive for once and you can try to defend, a far more useful exercise then anything that idiot Giles came up with" Lucius smirked slightly, quirking one eyebrow in challenge at the blonde. It would be interesting to see if she would pick up the gauntlet and actually try to improve her defense for once. Buffy had a talent for pissing people off and so a good defense would be greatly beneficial to her.
As he turned to look at his slave he felt a slight frustration rise in him, clearly he had been going too easy on the girl and allowing her too much freedom and as a result she was taking liberties. He would have to change that, he had been worried about Buffy finding out about what he was capable of but now he had used her blood it didn't seem as much of an issue.
"Evienne, you know full well the extent to which I 'touched' Buffy and that I initiated none of it. It's hardly my fault if some people cannot keep their slaves under control. Do you realise that it would have been perfectly acceptable for me to have killed her and simply reimbursed Ambrose?" Lucius wondered if either of the humans realised what the rest of the Supernaturals were actually like. Ambrose and himself were exceptions, different kinds of course, but still far more forgiving than others might be.
He addressed Ambrose last, the vampire really ought to know better than to make such jabs at a fellow Supernatural. It would be so easy for Lucius to destroy any standing that he might have within the community and would most likely result in his execution. The fact that Buffy liked Ambrose was more than enough evidence that the man was involved in freeing slaves and probably those of other people as well.
"Try and take the moral high ground all you like, Ambrose but the mere fact that you are here today is proof that there is plenty of innocent blood on your hands" Lucius pointed out scathingly, so the vampire had gone vegetarian that didn't change the fact that he had once butchered in the past.
"Whilst you prefer dead victims? How noble" Lucius rolled his eyes at the man, so he bought bags of blood rather than drinking from his own slave. So what? At least with drinking from your own slave you know how they were treated. The fact that Lucius had recently relapsed into taking human sacrifices was irrelevant. The rebel humans that he had found would have died anyway, they always attacked and Lucius always won. At least they were dying for something other than lunch.
"In any case, you are mistaken. I do value human life. I value all life and I understand that value, it's how I make a profit"
