"Follow me, he sated, leading her out onto the landing and down the hallway past a number of guest rooms. "I have several rooms for both Supernatural and slave use," he remarked as they passed, indicating the doors. "Though at present you're the only slave living in the house as opposed to the quarters out back. I have a staff of housemaids, a steward and a boy who deals with the outside work and the stables and kennels. You'll meet them later."
They rounded a corner and came to a sweeping flight of stairs. He indicated the corridor opposite the one they had come down.
"My daughter has her rooms in the East wing - she daywalks so you'll likely see her around in daylight. I'm generally nocturnal, for obvious reasons."
The next flight down contained a range of reception rooms along with a library and Carrick's study. One of his dogs trotted over to the vampire as he showed Grace around the library. He ruffled the fur at her neck and glanced at Grace. "This is Elsa. Do you like dogs? I have four of them; all German shepherds."
