Russ couldn't help but laugh too. He could see just the edge of light coming in through the covered window. He stepped out of the shower and dried himself watching Carrick. "Here," He gave the vampire another towel, "Wrap this around your head and shoulders, just in case."
He stepped out of the bathroom and opened the door. It was only six by the clock in the hallway, but the light of the sun was getting stronger. "Sure. Come on, we'd better move."
He led Carrick to the cellar door and ushered him inside, closing it behind them. It took only moments for the supernatural eyes to adjust to the dark. There was only one window in the basement and the light from it was no where near the finished room. He guided Carrick past the furnace and the big humming hulk of the commercial freezer to a small finished bedroom. It had a simple bed in it and a single light hanging from the ceiling. "I discovered this was here by accident when I was having the freezer put in." He turned on the light and closed the door. Then he pushed a throw rug up against the bottom of it. "That should do."
