Carrick leaned heavily against the tiled wall, utterly spent, his only response a shark-like smile and a breathless laugh. Russ was right. And the dawn was breaking. Reluctantly, Carrick rinsed himself off and stepped out of the shower, picking up a clean towel and handing one to Russ.
He dried himself off and rubbed at his hair, then wrapped the towel around his waist. He could feel the sun rising, his skin beginning to prickle.
"I should go to the basement; it's getting light out there," he suggested regretfully. "Come and lie with me for a while."
