Derek turned his back as Isaac dressed, not for modesty, but as part of his punishment. When the boy left his room, he picked up the boy's plug and his clothes and walked to the bedroom, placed them on the bench at the end of the bed.
He'd struggled with how to communicate to Isaac that he needed to stop self-policing, that it was Derek's role that he was usurping. Clearly telling the boy not to do it wasn't working. This time, he needed to try something different.
He walked down the hall to the playroom and entered after Isaac, shut the door behind him.
