Stage and dance area.
The noises were louder when you were standing right in the middle of them, River decided as she wandered the dance floor like she was lost. She'd actually managed to sit still long enough for Simon to comb her hair, and the soft, brown waves cascaded free down her back. She'd worn a simple, sea-green sundress of sorts that she'd favored with a pair of boots, and she almost felt like she could blend in with the shadows in that moment. She could almost function like a real girl if she played her part well.
The would-be girl cocked her head to the side before turning around once she found a spot in the center of the crowded dance floor. The rhythm and the beat of the music was becoming old to her, and in the span of the minute it had taken her to find her spot there, she already knew it. She started to move, copying the movements of the dancers flawlessly and even improving on the steps as she danced. She felt free as she let the music guide her, even if the steps had been borrowed at first.
