Carrick continued to stroke the leather of the belt over Mir's skin as he talked. It was almost a caress, but for the hardness of the vampire's gaze and the bright hunger in his eyes.
"And neither will you," Carrick replied quietly. "You will remain in your position. You may scream or weep or cry out... but you will not beg for mercy. Not because I will beat you harder if you do. But because your heart believes that you deserve none."
He drew back his arm and cast a final glance over the werewolf. "Are you ready for your punishment? Then ask for it. Humbly and sincerely and knowing fully what pain is to come."
