"I didn't think you'd actually do it," she muttered with a distinct pout that would be reminiscent of all the times Daniel had beaten her in sparring matches. "Jerk."
The bed was comfortable, and in her state, Buffy wasn't in a place to exactly think about whose bed it was. She instinctively rolled onto her side, curling up into a little, protective ball where she was still able to watch him before she fell asleep.
"I can't stop you right now, but I'm gonna bring you back. I'm not dumb. I know you think I am, but I'm not," she said softly, sounding younger than she usually did. "But until that happens, don't hurt Evie. When you need blood, you can have mine. Just don't hurt her anymore." Her eyes started fluttered as she felt herself drifting off. "And tell him. You promised." She held up a pinkie for the pinkie swears she always required for real promises. Sadly, Buffy fell asleep before she ever realized whether or not Lucius had taken it.
