Derek nodded, and then, before the boy could protest, he stood, scooping Isaac into his arms like a bride before carrying him over the threshold and back inside his room. He shut the door using his foot, and padded to his bed, sheets still unmade from where he'd been sleeping earlier.
"It's just us," he said quietly, and laid the boy out in his bed. "You want some water? Clothing?" He had no problem with the boy being naked, but he knew that vulnerable was probably not what Isaac wanted to be feeling right now.
