Isaac's body and mind both seemed to understand that he was safe, but with that, the memory of the dream came flooding back over him.
"Nightmare," he shuddered, trying to push it back out of his mind. "About before, about him."
They both knew who he was talking about. Derek had never been able to get a lot of detail out of Isaac, about everything he had gone through, but the scars and the nightmares had told enough.
"I've never left my room before, though."
Isaac had woken up more than once, under his bed, or squeezed into a corner, but it was quite a ways to travel from his room to Derek's, without waking up.
