"I don't want you to be Isaac," Derek replied, quietly. He didn't want Isaac to be like Isaac, but there was no point in wanting that. Isaac was the way he was now, and Derek tried to encourage him, to provide for him an environment where he felt secure, and safe, and loved. He owed it to Isaac.
"It would be nice, if you obeyed, and listened," he admitted. "I thought you just needed time. I was willing to be patient. But I never wanted you to be Isaac. There are things that you can learn from him, but there are things he could learn from you too. I'd hoped you'd be a good influence on each other."
He sighed and looked at the boy, tiredly. "And I don't need to see him. What I need is for you to to listen, and be patient, and trust me that I know better than you about Master/slave relationships. But above all, I need you to respect me. And if you leave this room right now, you clearly don't, and then...." he trailed off, and shrugged.
