Zoro took the side of the book near him, letting Noctis keep hold of the other half. "I'll help you with it," he agreed evenly. But he was going to make Noctis try as he went. While he could tell it made the boy uncomfortable, the only way reading would get any easier for him was if he started practicing.
"Once upon a time," Zoro started in on the first spread of pages, slowly tracking each word with his finger to give Noctis a chance to match what he was saying with the printed words, "there lived a town full of happy supernaturals and their beloved slaves, who lived only to serve their masters. But in the woods outside of the town, there was danger. A camp of dirty, nasty human rebels were jealous of how happy the masters and their slaves in the town were. They were making a terrible plan to hurt the town."
Zoro nodded at Noctis. "Turn the page when you're ready."
