Emrys was a lovely name as well, Alice decided. She was decidedly jealous of everyone's names in this household so far. Emrys and Mir. They sounded like they belonged in storybooks, and for some reason the latter name sounded like something she should've remembered. Alice frowned in thought but decided to repeat the last name Fortunatov over again like a little mantra so she'd remember it and not be distracted by the birds while she waited for Emrys to return.
When the other slave did come back, Alice had turned the name mantra into a little song. She blushed a bit when she hadn't recognized the boy at first. "I'm sorry. I kind of do stupid little things like that to trick my brain into remembering important stuff," she admitted, biting her lower lip and tucking a stray bang behind one ear. However, there was tea now and honey and all sorts of things, so her embarrassment was all but forgotten as quickly as it had come.
"Honey is good. Thank you," she said with a small smile. She took one of the cups in hand with delicate fingers before adding some honey and a bit of lemon. She blinked when he mentioned her getting in trouble. "Oh, trouble. Right. Well, I suppose it can't really be helped now."
