Liam jumped back, when Carrick hit him on his thigh. The vampire was too fast for the slave to be able to deflect his attack on his arm. It smarted, but he knew he had deserved it.
Liam growled, stumbling back, when the sword pierced his skin right over his heart. He held his hand over his wound, and stared back at the vampire, then gave him a curt nod. "Understood."
Still, he believed that his master's words weren't meant to distract him, but since he didn't have the time to think about them now, he filed them away to ponder about them later.
He moved forward to attack the vampire again, slashing quickly, trying to slide his sword around the other man's to cut over his arm.
