Emrys lay on the spare bed, just staring silently at the wall. His sobs had gradually died down to whimpers and now there was just...nothing. His body was screaming in pain, not not as painful as the feeling in his chest. His mind was running through the past few weeks since being bought. Mir had been so sweet and so kind. Before tonight he would have never thought the man was capable of being so cruel. And that's what he had been. It wasn't even about the belting, though in the boys mind it had been uncalled for. It had been the vicious words that had spilled from the others lips. Mir had told him on multiple occasions that he enjoyed Emrys' boldness, his willingness to talk. but apparently that had been a lie. Or at least he only enjoyed it when it benefitted him. If Mir truly saw him as nothing, then thats what he would be.
Hearing Jenns voice, Emrys wiped his eyes quickly before turning his head to look at her. "I-I'm fine" He murmured, his voice slightly hoarse, though he felt far from it. "Did Master send you to take the sheets? Advise me I had to sleep on the floor?"
