Emrys cried out as the leather hit his bare skin. He had never been struck like this before and he wasn't prepared for the biting sting. But what hurt more was that Mir didn't even care to hear what he had to say. He was fine with automatically assuming that Emrys was the one to blame.
Along with the pain and hurt, anger now bubbled under the surface. He had never given his master a reason not to trust him.
