Re: Holding Pens - Lexi
The idea of having a witch as a slave, frankly did Jasper's head in a bit. Having been a slave in the past, to a wonderful man who had treated him well, he had always looked up to the witch community. Owning one seemed... wrong. Disrespectful even.
"Yeah, look .. Lexi, don't get me wrong, you're a lovely boy and all that, but I like to keep the domestic help at arms length. Complications, see?" Something did tug at him however. Jasper's old witch master had treated him well, loved him, ordered Jasper's freedom when he passed away and set him up in a good life with an inheritance.
Maybe he should pay it back by changing this poor kid's life. But those 'complications' could be heartbreaking. The fae wasn't prepared to open himself up to that kind of pain, and if he had to skip town, he'd have to go alone. That wouldn't be fair on Lexi either.
"My life's a bit unstable to do you much good, son." He eventually told the slave, with genuine regret in his voice, and a surprisingly kind warmth in his eyes. "Good luck to you, Lexi."
