A panic started to set in when she read the emotions crossing his face; concern, guilt and something else that reminded her of her puppy growing up as a kid. Whatever it was, it made her more emotional than she ever like to be. Luckily, tomorrow she could explain to him that she was an emotional drunk. Piper tried to look away when the tears welled up and did everything she could to keep them from falling. All he wanted to do was protect her and she'd thrown herself to the wolves like nothing between them ever mattered.
His hand was pressed into one side of her lower back as he carried her out of the club and her weight added pressure to the garish bruise forming there. The brunette winced and squirmed, wanting nothing more than her dizzy buzz back and someone to wipe her memory clean of her reckless actions, "I'm...I'm sorry."
