Buffy didn't say anything else in response to what Allison revealed to her, struck by how impossibly hard everything had to be for the other girl. On top of everything Eterna had put her through, someone she trusted had abandoned her. That last feeling Buffy could understand all too well. Still, she put on a happy face for the sake of the evening as they sat down at the table.
"I tried skirts, so I keep telling him that he should try kilts once," she piped up, all too happy to bring up the subject and mental picture of Ambrose in a kilt. She took a bite of the food that was laid out, mulling over the situation. She wanted to show Allison that she could be there for her, but she didn't want to make things too difficult and painful.
"This world is an adjustment, that's for sure," she commented. It wasn't a lie either. How she thought she'd been so prepared for it...
