"It wasn't a bond that would've made me sad. I didn't know him well enough to be sad," Alice remarked casually as they walked. It was an honest truth, though it might've been more accurate to say she didn't really know anyone well enough to be sad at losing them. She supposed she could've been offended at being left behind, but she wasn't much for the life at the camps anymore. The best thing they had there was being able to sleep up against trees and right in the grass sometimes. Most masters in Crescent Hill would never allow such things.
"No. No more questions," she added, having drifted off into thought again for a moment or three.
