It was a classic case of submission remorse, Damon noted to himself. Elena had let herself get carried away, and now she was regretting it. Damon had learned a long time ago that it all went so much more smoothly if you just accepted what you wanted. Eternity was a very long time, if all you felt was shame.
He slung his arm across the doorway, giving Elena a slight nudge inside.
"This will be your room," he said, taking a look around and trying to see it through her eyes. It was a large, handsome space, and comfortable, with the bed taking up the middle of the room, and large, overstuffed chairs facing barred windows.
"It needs a little more tidying up, but I wasn't planning on buying any company today," he smirked.
