Buffy was more than a little uncomfortable with the direction the conversation was heading. She didn't know Roxanne nearly well enough to confide in her or talk about the issue seriously. Beyond that, her own fears in regards to the legitimacy of the child weren't exactly something she could spill in mixed company. She seemed far away as she knelt on the floor, her expression laced with worry and self-doubt. Giles hadn't said the dreams would creep into her waking thoughts, and she hadn't been sleep-running.
"I don't know if it was even real. Creepy child appearing out of nowhere who says her father's name is Lucifer? I've read enough- heard enough ghost stories to know that's a little too obvious to not be intentional," she finally said with a shrug of her shoulders. "I mean, if she was Satan's daughter, she was actually kind of more polite than you'd expect?" Buffy suggested, that faraway look gone from her eyes as she jokingly tried to find the up-side.
