"That would be preferred." He said, moving back to the sofa and sitting back down. "I think there might be some pans and cooking utensils in the bottom cabinet. Sorry I don't use them as often as the wolves did. They lived here for two months, working on my home to make it ready for when I came back." he leaned back in the sofa.
He studied her as she made her dinner. She was a woman that had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Had he given her more? Probably, she had been so eager to hate him and now she felt bad for something that happened so long ago. He was still kicking himself for putting that on her shoulders. He should have just made small talk.
"Your family, do you miss them?" He asked. That might get her back on the defensive. She was better being on edge then full of sympathy.
