The nice, gentleman vampire wanted her to call him by his first name and put on an act so the other ones wouldn't catch on to it. Giles had not prepared her for this. She suddenly felt like possibly the worst Slayer ever, and that was an accomplishment since all of the former ones were hunted and killed before they reached the age of 15 by some coven of witches.
That sense of self-disappointment quickly turned to panic as he continued. He knew that she was more than what she appeared to be. Her heart sank into the pits of her stomach.
