At Ambrose' direction, Buffy made a beeline for the kitchen, opening some of the cupboards until she found exactly what she'd mentioned earlier: a loaf of bread. She was sure there were nicer things about, but she was kind of starving and non-stale bread sounded like gourmet meal to her at the moment. She tugged off a piece and nibbled on it, kind of like a squirrel.
And then she almost choked on it at his next instructions. The girl swallowed that which she'd almost choked on before turning back to face the vampire sitting on the couch. She shouldn't have been staring back at him in disbelief. Honestly, his expectations seemed fair from a logical standpoint.
Buffy, however, was not exactly the most logical of Slayers in that moment. "Kneeling beside you in public is a rule but trying to kill you in your sleep is a guideline?" she all but sputtered in disbelief.
