"Shhhh," Samandriel said as he shifted carefully out of Carrick, tucked his wings out of the visible plane so he could lay in a way that looked more natural next to him. He stroked the vampire's face lightly. "Yes, they could have, Helios. And your apology is accepted, but do not mourn the past, my dear Spartan. There is no changing it, not even for angels. Recognize where you misstepped and be more mindful of your footing in future."
He kissed the vampire's eyelids, trying to give tears he was clearly trying not to shed their due as well.
"You have questions." His fingers kept moving against Carrick's face and neck, being as soothing and as accepting as he could. "And I can spare some time yet tonight to answer a few of them if you'd like."
