To say that he had been taken off guard by the werewolf's decisive approval of his plans would have been a bit of an understatement. Alcuin hadn't expected his plans to be approved so quickly and without complaint after what had transpired between them before. In fact, that had been a large part of the reason why he had been so painstakingly meticulous about it. He'd fully expected to walk out of his office having to come up with something else, some other way to contribute that might be more lucrative, or otherwise useful. He went to comment and then thought better of it, too afraid to jinx his good fortune.
Alcuin elected to move on to a much more pressing concern that had been on his mind for days now instead. “Might I ask you a question before I take my leave, sir?”
