A cold tendril of fear dripped down his spine at the thought of his master coming to harm. Alcuin had learned the hard way that even the most seemingly invincible and undying creatures of the supernatural world could still meet their end at any given moment in time. It was not an experience he wanted to be subjected to ever again. “What do you mean?” The question came off much more harshly than he had intended, the words catching in his throat at the unspeakable memories of having outlived everyone he had ever come to love. “What do you mean he could hurt himself?”
He couldn't imagine his master getting himself into a situation where he would hurt himself, much less anyone else, but if there was some way he could circumnavigate and counteract it he would do so without question.
