They hardly ever argued or exchanged harsh words, not like this. Lucien had yelled before of course but that had been when he was stressed and his OCD was in full force. Nate had never responded in kind, had never raised his own voice in return until now. He did like the idea of the club, and he did want to look after Jenna. But Lucien was his first priority.
He wanted to trust his lover and in truth it wasn't entirely about the alcohol, it was more the decisions he made while drinking that concerned Nate. He'd given his whole heart to Lucien and it would break, shatter completely if Lucien let another touch him.
"I don't need or want other people" Nate said on a sigh, pulling Lucien close so he was sat straddling Nate's lap, "I'd be happy with just you for the rest of my life. But you might have a point about Jenna" he conceded, "Ten might be bearable. Only two hours apart" still too long but the best he could hope for maybe.
