Laura listening as Scott apologised - and even though she knew it could simply just be words, she wanted to believe he meant them - maybe it was a naive hope, but it was a hope all the same. After she'd first turned him and he hadn't wanted to come back with them, to be in the pack, she remembered going back to Derek, telling him she'd messed up. But when she'd found Scott injured, she could never have just left him there. Sometimes an Alpha just knew when she'd made the right decision.
"I know. I understand that this way of life is hard for you to get used to, but I hope now that Deaton has cleared a few things up, you understand exactly how lucky you are to have us." Maybe it was big-headed to say, but it was honestly how Laura felt. "Pack is family. We care about everyone in the pack, and those that matter to the pack. Of course your mother matters to us, otherwise Derek would never have risked his life to get the truth. While I personally don't agree with camps... I wouldn't want anyone in them hurt." Well, that wasn't true, but she didn't want to go into with Scott about Kate and her involvement in her family's deaths.
"Just keep all that in mind. Go to your job, get your slave, get settled in, and in time, I'm sure you'll make the right decision."
