And that strength includes our slaves too - while they might not share the same positions in the pack, they still are back. They're protected the same as everyone else is." It was a harder concept for some to grasp, especially those not born into this life, but if slaves could adapt to it, she didn't see why Scott couldn't eventually.
It was clear Scott was trying to do as he'd been taught by Deaton, the trip away not having been a waste, at least, and she took a sip of water. She wanted to just let him straight back in with open arms, but experience had taught her to not be so relaxed. Being relaxed and not keeping an eye on Kate and what she was doing to Derek had been what lost them everything in the first place.
