Darcy made a small sound as she was pulled into his lap, stiffening briefly as if afraid of toppling off the couch. After she relaxed against him, she sank down into his lap, thighs pressed against his hips, another little whimper muffled against his lips as a sudden, burning need coiled in her belly.
The end of the kiss permitted her to catch her breath, and Sebastian's promise coaxed a beautiful smile out of her. "Truly?" she asked quietly, clearly overjoyed but hesitant to get her hopes up in case it did not work. With a laugh, she kissed Sebastian, trying to convey her appreciation because words failed her. After being plagued with the issue for her entire life, she could hardly imagine what it would be like to see things at a distance properly. Her marksmanship would definitely improve.
Not that she was likely to touch a gun ever again.
"I don't know what to say," she murmured against his lips.
