Darkness Rising [16 Aug 2009|01:23am]

August, 1978.

Voldemort is nearly at his full power and if things keep going his way, he will soon have full control. After spending months fighting the Imperius Curse from Lord Voldemort, Minister of Magic, Millicent Bagnold, has completely broken from the Dark Lord’s control, a result of weeks of deception on her part. Aurors nearly caught Voldemort, but three Aurors were killed in the process and now the weakening Department of Magical Law Enforcement is getting desperate for more man-power.

Professor McGonagall’s daughter has been rescued and has been able to identify her captor; Bellatrix Lestrange.

Even with his top follower on the run and his failings with the Minister, Voldemort has something else on his side; the Horcruxes. Having successfully created two, both in safe keeping, he searches for his mother’s locket and the cup of Hufflepuff, to create even more.

Greyback is turning werewolves secretly and plans to break into the Ministry of Magic, when he’s not stalking Remus Lupin’s fiancée, Dorcas Meadowes. When he finds the Aurors assigned to hunt him down, what will be their fates?

Alice Longbottom’s father, responsible for the death of her daughter, has been murdered by Bellatrix Lestrange, but the Ministry only has their eyes set on the Longbottoms and Dumbledore for the culprits.

Lucius Malfoy has proposed a business marriage with Narcissa Black and the two powerful families are about to merge, Hogwarts has a new Defense Against the Dark Arts profess; Death Eater, Matthew Johnson, and the new Auror trainees will soon embark on a journey that will potentially lead them all to their deaths.

Things are just beginning to get interesting.

Want to know how you can join in on the story as it unfolds?

You can. All you have to do is join.

Here is what happens: maybe you're sitting down to dinner at a fancy restaurant. Maybe you're just waking up on a dreary Monday morning. Maybe you're rocking your child to sleep. Then, all of a sudden, there is a flash of light, a roaring noise, and then... Nothing. You wake up in a lavish, unfamiliar bedroom; there is a knock on the door and in comes a house elf, huge eyes and batlike ears and all, with a tray of your favorite breakfast foods. The sun is shining down on a beautiful morning in a place you've never seen before. What happened to you? Where did your life go? And how do you get it back?

The Manor is a panfandom RPG, dedicated to encouraging character development and relationships based around plot arcs designed by the moderators. Your character is taken out of their lives at any point, even after their deaths, and dropped into a place cobbled together from bits and pieces of buildings from across the various universes. You never know when you'll take a turn and enter the Parthenon, or the brig of a Starfleet vessel. You are housed with people of your own kind: if you are a heroic character, you are situated near the rooms of the other heroes. A villain? You're with your murderous pals in another wing of the Manor. But how can life in this frightening place compare to the one you had? How can you befriend these unkind strangers?

That's where They come in. The Ladies of the Manor, the Mistresses of the House, the Deadly Duo, the Raving Rulers. They are the White Witch Jadis, ruler of Narnia, and Lady Mary Van Tassel, summoner of the Headless Horseman. They stay in their tower, look down on the Manor, and make changes in your life. They might decide one day that you need some romance, and spike your drink and that of another person in the Manor so that you fall hopelessly in love for about a week. Maybe they want you to make a few enemies, so they make sure you get lost in the villains' wing. And maybe they decide that you've gotten too uppity, and need to spend a little time dead. But don't worry: no one's dead for long, here.

This is the Manor. Welcome home.

Life on Olympus couldn't be better now that it's 2009 and the mortals have stopped pestering us. Yep, things'd be just perfect if that crazy cannibalistic grandfather/uncle/father of ours (it gets confusing with all that inbreeding) hadn't decided he wanted revenge for being locked up a couple of centuries. Who knew there was truth to the saying 'hell on earth?' Well guys and gals, looks like it's time to adapt to the mortal realm because Cronus isn't going to let us go back home anytime soon...

Welcome to Fallen Pedestals, where the ancient characters of Greek mythology have been stripped of their powers and banished to the busy city of Manhattan. From there, it's up to them: will they try and fit in to the modern day mortal society, or will they spend their time plotting to take the Heavens back by force?

Multifandom Asylum-Based IJ RPG. [16 Aug 2009|09:17pm]

As children, we're expected not just to believe in fairy tales, but to embrace them. Boys can fly and live as children forever, girls can be rescued from their evil step-mothers and whisked away to castles in pumpkin coaches; the world is an endless stretch of possibility set against a backdrop of inherent freedom.

It is only a fiction. The world eventually reveals itself to be an unkind place, the villains not easily defeated, no fairy godmother to come to the rescue. The loss of innocence is taken in stride by some, and those fortunate masses go on to become grown-ups, to live out their lives in some boring profession or another, to forget magic after passing it along to their own children.

But what of those who grow older without growing up? What if Alice witnessed something so terrifying that she never wanted to leave Wonderland? What if Belle's beast was so cunning and so cruel that she could not bear to part from him, his murder of her father aside? For all of those who fell through the cracks, for the most unique and the least privileged, the untouchable and the uncared for, for the most heartbreaking and horrifying, there exists a refuge. The shelter? A deceptively quiet New England hospital; Cheshire Crossing.

“The Road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can, pursuing it with eager feet, until it joins some larger way where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.” –J.R.R. Tolkien

Halloween, 1981, the Dark Lord Voldemort fell at the hands of one-year old Harry Potter, bringing an end to a decade long reign of terror, to the relief of the entire Wizarding World. Death Eaters were imprisoned, wounds healed, and the Wizarding World spent the next decade healing from the pain of the first war. Yet, Voldemort was not truly defeated that night. He will rise once more, bringing upon another vicious war upon the Wizarding World.

Everyone knows the story of James and Lily Potter and the story of their son, Harry, but until now, the story of what happened in between has been unknown.

It is 1990, the year before Harry Potter will discover he is a Wizard. The world is a simple place. It just happens to be filled with the supernatural. Demons, vampires, magic, angels, good, evil. But through it all one thing stays constant. The world is a cosmic game board between Heaven and Hell. Hell has its influence everywhere, guided by Lucifer's hand. Heaven's armies battle Hell's, while most humans are blind to the fact their existence could change with one lost fight. While Hell has it's share of demons and other evils, Heaven has its champions. It's Chosen. The war is on going and woven so deep into the fabrics of life that many of these individuals remain unaware of each other. Many think they are alone, but in reality they are not. Many prefer to work alone but there are situations that won't allow it. Through it all, beings are trying to exist. To live. To rule.

The world continues on. Battles fought. Battles won. Battles lost. Heroes and villains come and go. Life evolves. Though the board can change, the game will forever continue.

So what kind of person are you? Are living or are you fighting?

Endless Epitaph is a multi-fandom game set in a world where horror and the supernatural are prevalent. Buffy Summers is slaying vampires, the Ghostbusters are busting ghosts, Winchesters are hunting demons, witches are hording power, and everyone is fighting to save the world, to end it, or just to get through the day.
