Five years after Sunnydale was swallowed by the earth, it's back. Or a reasonable facsimile at least. Built over the ruins of the old town, the newly named Prescott Valley has been billed as a shining oasis full of new houses and families. A mere two hour drive from LA, Prescott Valley has cinemas, schools, a mall, several Starbucks... in short, all the amenities you would expect to find in a freshly built town.

And one that you wouldn't.

Deep below the town, something else has been rebuilt: the Hellmouth. Called to this portal between Earth and the Underworld is the Source, in the body of Cole Turner. In a last ditch effort to win his love back, Cole made a deal to take the Source into his body in exchange for actually getting a body. However, Cole was not as powerful as he thought and his plan to double cross the Source failed.

Working with the First, the two Biggest Bads of all time are slowly but surely taking over the town of Prescott Valley, on their way to dominating the world. Tentative news of increased supernatural activity has reached the ears of the Good, however and protectors the likes of the Slayers, the Charmed Ones and others have begun trickling back into the area to investigate. Unbeknownst to most of the Prescott Valleyians, humans have been recruited, lured with promises of power and riches, and slowly the town is decaying again.

In this epic battle of Good versus Evil, who's side will you be on?

Vale of the Enclave [03 Apr 2009|08:39am]

From an era predating time and recorded history comes the tale of the Enclave -- a distinct phratry among the ordinary folk whose settlements stretched from sea to sea along the continental landmass known as The Vale. Typically those numbered among the Enclave society received their inherent membership by blood, passage rites from parent to child among the tribe's elders -- although it was not unknown for one born completely outside the congregation to find his or herself duly sworn into their ranks.

Consisting of powerful sorcerers, apothecaries, mages, fortune tellers & seers, alchemists, and necromancers, this once powerful council eventually broke apart into two distinct factions after centuries of bitter feuding and disagreements -- those of Warlocks, and those the Druids. They remain to this day inextricably woven together at the core, yet the bitterest of enemies over fundamental precepts regarding the distinction of sexes and the worship of deities. Neither side will give an inch toward truce. Neither will admit to any wrong-doing or treachery. And neither will accept the other as any part of the true Enclave.

Over the centuries, each group has both risen to power and been defeated time and again. The last war saw the entire city of Faltha obliterated under the curse of the Black Plague, and all the remained had been burnt to the ground in offering to the Druid goddess Shalindr'a. More than a thousand souls in this Warlock stronghold perished in less than a week. The result of which shifted the tide of rulership into the hands of Druids.

For more than half a century now, the ordinary citizens of the Vale must comply with Druid precepts and law. They must participate in the bi-annual lottery at each equinox wherein a pilgrimage must be made to the southern regions of the Vale below the barren summits of Wyvern's Spine -- the legendary lair of dragons. It is there, under Druid law, that they must sacrifice a virgin girl from among them, to appease the dragons until the next equinox. Failure to comply results in swift and terrifying punishment.

Prophecy declared that a Warlock would rise, like the mythical pheonix from the burning ashes, bringing with him the defeat of Druid tyranny. In their desire to squash what may well be true, the Druids unleashed a horrifying disease upon the Warlock stronghold, in hope of solidifying their own strength and supremacy throughout the Vale. For decades they have awaited, both Druid and ordinary Citizen alike -- to see whether the prophecy had been true.

Salem, Massachusetts a town where there is some of the most history in the United States. A town that has been around since the 1600s, where humans came and settled, before turning on one another. Now, it's the year 2009 and it is home to humans and supernatural beings alike. Salem is a town where strange things happen and the things that go bump in the night really do exist. A vampire might live behind the park, a werewolf might be the one serving your coffee. Humans do not know that vampires, witches, were animals and many other beings live among them.

Unlike a lot of comms where werewolves and vampires do not get along, here in [info]harvest_moon that is a case by case basis. Your vampire can choose to get along with a werewolf, or they can choose to hate them. Come check out the life you can lead here at [info]harvest_moon where anything that you think is a myth is probably living down the street from you.

Forgotten Gods [03 Apr 2009|03:04pm]
About / Rules / Cast List / Held / Wanted / FAQ / Resources / Apply

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?

Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

It all began with a strange sentient planet that had gotten lonely, and had begun to kidnap people from all times and places to keep itself company. To entertain it's 'guests', it created a world that, every so often, shifted, but always looked like some sort of resort on earth. In a rare moment of weakness, the King of the Goblins and Ruler of the Underground, Jareth, was taken unawares and brought to the Planet. What followed was an inevitable clash of egos as the powerful fae creature fought with the strange sentient planet. The battle was fierce, and the fallout completely unpredictable.

In the end, a new dimension was created, somewhere between Jareth's old home and the dimension occupied by the sentient planet. In this new land, Jareth appears to reign surpreme. But can anyone truly rule in a world that was created in such a bizarre and tumultuous way? A few people had been brought along with him in the creation of the new realm, but Jareth decided that anything the Planet could do, he could do better. With that in mind, he began to bring in people from all places and times. Very soon, those who had been brought with him would have company...

Time Between: A Twilight RPG

[info]time_between
[info]time_ooc

"The Time has come for the great ones, the ones who have long since hindered our lives, keeping our identity secret, to fall. They do not believe in our race, in our freedom. Our kind has been turned in to the monsters that hide away until night. It's time to let us become the superior race we were created to be and let the humans know it is not God they should fear, but it us." - Maria

"When I lived with the Volturi, I met two immortal children, so I know firsthand the appeal they had. Aro studied the little ones for many years after the catastrophe they'd caused was over. You know his inquisitive disposition; he was hopeful that they could be tamed. But in the end, the decision was unanimous: the immortal children could not be allowed to exist." - Carlisle

There are whispers through the south that something epochal is going on. The newborns of Seattle were nothing compared to what's been rumored to be happening this time. Talk of a group of immortal children being created and of Maria, the woman who managed to escape the Volturi's punishment for her participation in the Vampire Wars of the South. She's been quietly biding her time in Mexico, slowly gathering up an army of her own, one that rivals and surpasses the Guard. She's found herself at the head of a cult like following of Vampires that have each been scorned by the Volturi Royalty themselves. Joined by the Romanian's who have long since been awaiting the moment for Volterra to be overthrown, this group of Vampire's are looking for a fight.

The Volturi itself faces complications of their own, and what will happen when their loyalty to each other is tested? What will become of the men that have kept order amongst the Vampire world for over a thousand years when the guard that they count on leaves their post? Who will they turn to to keep their numbers strong and present a united front?
