Character/Series: Edward Elric; Envy; Fullmetal Alchemist
Rating: NC-17
Notes/Warnings: Rapefic/Noncon, one of the two. The line is a little blurry there. Mindfuckery, psuedocest, standard Envy/Ed warnings, etc. I don't own FMA, nor am I making any money off of this, this is just for enjoyment. And also because lykomancer demanded noncon. Written for the theme "The best safety lies in fear".
Music: Want by Recoil. Been meaning forever to do something with this song. GO ME THANK YOU LYKO.

"The best safety lies in fear."
-William Shakespeare
Edward would wake up in fear, the sheets plastered to his skin stickily with sweat and come, shivering from the chill and the feel of those cold hands still on him, sliding over his sensitive back and legs and-
Alphonse would be hovering over him, managing to look worried without being able to make an expression, and asking him repeatedly was he all right? and what was wrong?
Edward always mumble "nothin', just a nightmare, 's all" and slip off to the shower to clean up, and then let himself fall asleep on his brother's cold metal lap, the only place that fear didn't haunt him.
He never let that fear go during the day, though, when he was not kept safe under Alphonse's faithful vigil. During the day, both brothers were distracted by their work, their quest to restore each other's bodies.
During the day, when they might wander away from each other, following separate pieces of the same lead, gathering information to compile together that evening.
During the day, when his back might not be protected, if he didn't keep careful watch himself.
During the day, when he came around.
It still crawled under his skin, ate away at his thoughts, his mind, until he could barely focus on the words in front of him, the invaluable information that might be key to restoring his little brother to his own flesh and blood body. Not even that could fully chase away that fear, that memory, that humiliation that left a icy lump in his stomach and made bile rise in his throat when he let himself stop and think.
"Does it still bother you?"
Edward didn't bother to look back at the sound of that androgyne voice that slid like heated silk over his ears. He froze, tensed up, gripped the book in his hands hard enough for his automail hand to break the cover.
Envy's breath was hot against his neck as his hand slid over Edward's arm, closing over his hand. "It does, doesn't it? You can't get it outta your mind. Can't get me outta your mind."
The blond didn't say anything, wide-eyed and trembling as Envy pulled the book from his hands, snapped it shut and tossed it aside carelessly, unmindful of how important the information in it could be.
Envy's arm reached around Edward, capturing him tightly against the sleeker body, hips pressing against Edward's back and a low whimper caught and died in his throat as Envy's hand drew slowly down his chest. "You think about it all the time, don't you, Shorty? How you lost that fight. How I fucked you. How you enjoyed it."
"Shut up," Edward hissed, but there was no power behind it, fear paralyzing him, freezing him to the spot and keeping him still as Envy's hand worked his belts, fingernails scraping against the leather of his pants, against the erection that made his face flush red with humiliation.
"So you're saying you didn't enjoy it?" Envy taunted, biting his ear lobe before placing a paradoxically gentle kiss on his neck. "Then how do you explain this, Shorty?"
Edward's hands shot out and gripped the shelves of the bookcase tightly as Envy's cool hand wrapped around his heated cock, pulling gently as he slid his hand along the length, wetting the tips of his fingers with pre-come that had gathered at the head.
"Don't touch me," he whimpered, biting the inside of his cheek until he tasted blood, coppery acetone against his tongue. His stomach clenched up painfully, heaved, threatened to empty itself, and yet he just stood there, shaking and holding the shelf hard enough to splinter the wood under his right hand as Envy's skilled hand worked his cock, his other hand pushing Edward's pants down over his hips.
"That's not what this is saying, Shorty." Envy smirked, bit his neck sharply and ran his tongue along the skin, licking up the blood that welled up from where Envy's teeth had pierced skin.
His breath caught in his throat when Envy thrust up into him, muscles so tense they trembled, and Envy hissed in pleasure, tightened his grip on Edward's cock, his other arm wrapped around his midsection, fingers digging into his ribs so hard Edward thought there would be bruises later.
The dull, muted pain from his ribs only served to increase the heated pressure building low in his belly, that built with each thrust, each stroke, both just a bit too hard, running to the right of painful, to the left of pleasure, tangling up the two somewhere in between and this was insane, it hurt, it fucking hurt, but his body pleaded for more, more, more.
Oh god.
Every thought in his mind was erased by the crackle that shot along his nerves, fraying his mind at the edges, until he was coming undone, the shelf completely breaking under his grip and his breath choking and gagging him, hips moving with Envy's thrusts of their own volition, needing, aching, almost there-
"Brother?"
Edward jumped, nearly dropped the book in his hand, gaze snapping over to his brother, who stood at the end of the aisle, watching him with concern.
The library was empty, except for them.
"Are you all right, Brother?"
Edward forced a smile, dazzling in its brilliance, as he shut the book and reshelved it. "Fine, Al. Just got a little lost in thought, I guess."
Alphonse didn't look entirely convinced, but with a quiet sound like a sigh, he nodded. "All right. Hey, why don't we go get some lunch? It's past noon, I'll bet you're hungry by now, huh?"
Had that much time passed? Edward laughed quietly, no real feeling behind it. "That late already? Guess that's why I got so distracted, I forgot to eat again. Come on, let's go see how much we can charge to the military's expense."
He kept that fear with him, nursed it quietly, because that was the only way he'd be safe from anyone ever knowing what had happened.
