I inhale now I'm addicted Who: Yako, Bert, and Reno for now, but it will be open to certain characters later When: Love at First Sight Day Where: The woods near Asgard. Rating: PG-13 Warnings: TBA, but probably not worse than kissing and such Summary: Yako and Bert broke off their engagement a few days ago, but on the very last day of their camping trip, things heat up.
Yako let out a soft groan and rolled over onto her side, blinking blearily up at the light filtering through the trees. With a defeated yawn, she pushed herself up into a sitting position, stretching languidly. A gentle grin tugged at her mouth as she heard a bird take flight from a tree nearby. This past week had been great; she couldn't remember being so at peace for so long here.
Bert had taught her how to camp, and how to hunt. It was a little meddy, but she was surprisingly fine with killing small animals. It helped that she was already thinking about how to prepare them best when she made her move. At night, he had brought out his fiddle and they had taking turns teaching eachother songs from their respective homelands. In between, they had talked about trivial things, and skirted around the large pink elephant in the room that was the apocalyptic game they were supposed to be playing. Yako hadn't given her team much more than a passing thought since she entered the forest with the Gunslinger. That was most likely the reason behind the mellow feeling filling her right now.
Her spirits dampened slightly as something occured to her. Today...was the last day. Today was the day the two of them would bring their camping trip to a close and leave this place behind. Today was the day she would have to go back to the eerie house, Rufus' accusations, all the drama that normally went on in Niflheim. After these past few days, it was even more unappealing than usual. There was no excuse she could make to extend this sojourn; she had released Bert from the engagement on the very first day with a slightly formal speech he had explained to her.
Turning, with a heavy heart, she looked across the campsite that had been home to them for the last week at Bert. The words she had been about to say died in her throat when her eyes landed on him. Her heart gave a painful thump in her chest.
