In the dining room adjoining the kitchen, where Yako is...
Tseng: ^.^ *sits twiddling thumbs, smiling good-naturedly and breathing in pancakey-smell*
Rufus: ...
Tseng: I can't remember the last time I had pancakes. *smile smile*
Rufus: B| I can't remember the last time I cared.
Tseng: *pointedly* She's very likeable, isn't she? *more smiling*
Rufus: I suppose.
Tseng: Seems like you have been, as well. Likeable, that is.
Rufus: I try to avoid ostracizing myself, when it counts.
Tseng: *smirk* I can't help but notice she's wearing your pants.
Rufus: *f-frown... Should have known that would come up.* Making "friends" can be crucial in small places like this. If it means being over-nice... so be it.
Tseng: *leans one elbow on the table, cupping his head in his hand, looks up at Rufus from underneath his lashes* And she is just this, a 'friend' in quotations?
Rufus: Is that what this is all about? Really? Yes, yes she is. We're pleasant enough, and I trust her relatively— more than the others, at least. So yes, a "friend." In quotations. B|
Tseng: *continues smiling obnoxiously* And for this 'friend' in quotations, you wanted to kick me out of your room, and looked more irritated than usual when she was...hm, upset. Forgive me for pointing out that, usually when you make 'friends', in quotations, you seek or at least value my opinion.
Rufus: I value your opinion, but I do not appreciate what you are implying. And you were deliberately being annoying, in my room. ...Of course I was "upset," you said five words to the girl and she was ready to break down in tears in the middle of my room. Excuse me for not wanting to deal with that right now.
Tseng: *sits back up* I'm not going to say too much, but you should understand what someone like her is capable of. It's amazing what a girl can do with a few smiles and a culinary talent... but if you want the subject dropped, fine.
