Who: L and Rufus
When: Slip Day.
Where: A mansion on a hill in emptiness.
Rating: PG-13 (just to be safe?)
Warnings: None I can think of.
Summary: L invites Rufus to tea in order to take advantage of slip day and get information on his enemy. Rufus thinks this is a great idea and is up for doing the same.
The map that had been sent to Rufus pointed to a mansion that L had spent the past two nights in. It wasn’t likely that someone would be able to determine this at first glance, though, as he had made plans on leaving that morning and had therefore done a thorough job cleaning up after himself to make it look like he hadn’t been there at all. All that remained for him to do was to take down a couple of extra cameras he had placed around the perimeter and pack up his laptop, which was a task he planned to take care of after his meeting with Rufus if the man decided to show.
He was well aware of some of the risks he was taking by having this meeting in person.
There was no guarantee that if the man showed up he would follow the guidelines the detective had set. He could be armed, and he could have Reno or anyone else from Nifheim with him. There was little L could do if it came to having to protect himself from being attacked or captured.
At least the mansion was a secure place as far as buildings in Emptiness went. Separated a little away from the town itself and located on a rocky hill, it had a nice view of the town and property below, which had somehow managed to remain fully trimmed and well kept despite the lack of occupants. There was even a strong iron gate surrounding the property, cameras, and places only accessible though code.
Not a place he wanted to share with the enemy, but he didn’t have enough time to set up elsewhere.
L looked at the clock on his computer. It was currently 2:20. Time for him to open the gate. Rufus would have three minutes to get in.
