Alessa's arrival on the porch and their walk through the maze was natural, familiar. But when Yako turned up on Asgard's property, she was baffled. Of course, the girl explained herself which cleared everything up, but then Rufus, whom Blythe had never met before, had followed the girl. But they had come with good reason, the both of them, as curious as that was. She wasn't the sort to usually take such coincidences as a sign. Sometimes this world - and its inhabitants - was predictable in its unpredictability.
Still, it had been somewhat enlightening. And feeling satisfied, Blythe found her book and intended to go inside. Night had fallen. She couldn't see it, but she felt the cool air on her face and the sound of crickets in the distance. Time had passed quickly, but she needed to find Kain. She hadn't forgotten that he'd arranged to speak with her about some important matter.
Reaching for the handle of the door, Blythe's heightened sense of hearing caught movement in the trees. Turning around, she was startled to find she couldn't see anything that would cause it. Yako and Rufus had been different, because their auras were luminescent. But if something had just emerged from the forest, it wasn't anything like them.
"Hello?" She called out, curious. If nothing responded, she would dismiss it as wind or some small animal. It had happened before.
