Suddenly glowing, Blythe couldn't stop the light blush that fell over her cheeks. Her fingers stopped grazing the plants, folding together with her other hand.
"I am...well, yes, 'excited' is the appropriate word, isn't it?" She laughed before she paused in her thoughts. "In my world, there isn't marriage. There is no official consumation of vows. The Demons accept their partners. They call themselves husband and wife, but there is never a preceded ceremony. Humans, on the other hand, exchange a portion of their skin. The husband and wife remove an equal amount, give it to one another, and have their partner's skin sewn where theirs had been removed."
This probably wouldn't come as too much of a surprise to Alessa, who had been there when Blythe's dangerously Human side was revealed on New Year's Eve. Yesterday, too, was some form of Human though she'd been calling herself a Demon. Blythe couldn't ever quite escape that.
"I think it is the right thing to do. For us. For our child. I never thought I would fall in love." She shook her head. "I apologize, I am becoming far too sentimental."
